The Good News:

I usually don’t pay attention or give a damn about top prospect lists, because they’re speculative and It’s really a cheat sheet for the fans, but this is worthy attention:

According to Keith Law’s new top 50 prospect ranking: Mets’ Top Prospect Amed Rosario ranks as #1 in Baseball.

Dominic Smith comes in at #22

Now in AARGH News….

After being struck in the hand in last night’s game, 1B Peter Alonso has a broken hand, and there is an unknown timetable on return. Alonso was the 2nd rounder for the Mets last draft and has some great power, but has fallen to some injuries in his college career. Let’s hope for a speedy recovery…

LHP Joel Huertas was placed on the Hi-A St. Lucie roster in his stead, and

OF Jacob Zanon and 3B Blake Tiberi were placed on the Disabled List. Zanon was doing well for Columbia before being hit in the head by a pitch at the beginning of Monday’s game, and Tiberi’s injury is labeled as “upper body”.

INF Reed Gamache and OF Jose Medina have been called up from Extended Spring Training to replace them.

Let’s hope for speedy returns from these guys.
